An Impact Identity to empower enterprising researchers
Bristol Grid is a new digital-first service from the University of Bristol that aims to better connect university-based innovators with the support they need to turn their ideas into impact. The initiative forms part of the university’s vision to step-change global recognition of its entrepreneurial output.
First-time innovators often struggle to know where to turn to get the right support at the right time. The experience can feel overwhelming and off-putting and risks preventing transformative ideas from becoming a successful reality.
The user-centric Bristol Grid service aims to provide one point of access to the extensive range of support services and expertise across the entire university. The platform and its network of passionate, knowledgeable Grid Champions will simplify the process of identifying the right event, resource, advisor or programme, and connect innovators to an always-on community of like-minded people who can inspire, encourage and support one another through the entrepreneurial journey.
Bristol Grid: Empowering Innovators
Firehaus brought together a diverse range of stakeholders across a series of workshops to define a positioning, name and strapline for the service, which not only reflected what users wanted but also complemented the University’s own positioning of ‘Tradition with edge’. We then moved on to develop the brand identity, marketing strategy and collateral to support the BETA launch focussed specifically on healthtech innovation.
“Firehaus have been at the heart of turning a good idea on paper into a user-centric reality. They’ve given us a strong balance of strategic challenge and direction, creative ambition and ingenuity alongside the feet on the ground experience to know how to get things done well in good time.”
