Powered By People

Context

UK manufacturers are not adopting digital technologies as fast as many of its competitors. This is hampering innovation and growth, and leaving a chunk of an estimated £455 billion* opportunity on the table.

Objectives

Create a cohesive brand identity for The Centre for People-Led Digitalisation (PLD) that combines the efforts of researchers across multiple universities under a clear purpose, mission, and vision to translate their insights to a non-academic audience.

Approach

We got under the skin of the sector challenges and how the research insights could contribute to a ‘right-first-time’ approach to digitalisation – by putting people, not technology, first.

In this instance, we began with the creation of a visual identity, crafting a logo that put a human at the heart of the organisation. We subsequently ran the project through our Brand Catalyst sprint process:

  • Defined the Purpose, Mission and Vision

  • Defined the core audiences and messaging

  • Developed a brand proposition statement

With the strategy resolved the creative process:

  • Built on the strength of the logo to create the Powered by People line

  • Created an eye-catching look and feel summed up in a Brand Narrative document

  • Website templates

  • A manifesto film for use across all channels

  • Presentation template

  • A colour palette

  • A set of digital assets including logo files, imagery and video clips with bespoke colour treatment

Results

PLD has been using assets as they come ‘on stream’. The website launched in the summer of 2024. We also ran a workshop for their 60+ research network on research translation to reach wider audiences.

“We work in close partnership with industry, and Firehaus has already helped us create a strong identity in the space. The next step is creating a platform and promotion that increases awareness of the insights we have generated.

Working with Firehaus has been a brilliant experience. The team have held our hand through the whole process delivering exactly what we needed within our budget.”
